We’ve designed a comprehensive, generous benefits program to support and motivate our employees. We feel it is a solid investment in recruiting and retaining the best people. The following highlights some (but not all) of our benefits.
ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for benefits, you must be a full-time employee. Pro-rated benefits may be available for part-time employees who meet eligibility requirements.
INSURANCE
Health Insurance
We pay up to 90% of the cost of health insurance for employees and their dependents. Employees can choose from HMO providers such as CDPHP, MVP, Blue Shield of Northeastern New York and GHI. We also proudly carry Retiree Health Insurance for those who qualify. Coverage begins the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
Dental Insurance
Wildwood pays up to 90% of cost of dental insurance for employees and their dependents.
Medical Insurance Reimbursement
For employees covered in another health insurance plan (i.e. under a spouse, domestic partner , parent or previous employer), we will reimburse to them up to the cost of what Wildwood would have paid for in their insurance health costs.
Group Term Life with AD&D rider
Life insurance is 100% paid by Wildwood. The death benefit is twice the annual salary to a maximum $100,000. There is also an Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance benefit for loss of life or limbs.
Short-term and Long-term Salary Protection
In the event of a disability that prevents the employee from working.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for Medical expenses
Wildwood funds each employee’s medical FSA from $150 - $600 in 2007. Under the FSA, our employees can also set aside part of their paychecks for Health & Dental expenses on a pre-tax basis. Both Wildwood’s contribution and the employee’s own FSA amount reimburses them for qualified medical expenses.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for Dependent care or Childcare expenses
Under this FSA, our employees can set aside part of their paychecks for daycare expenses for children or for the care of qualified dependents (i.e. for a disabled adult child or an elderly parent) on a pre-tax basis.
PAID TIME OFF
Vacation
Wildwood believes our employees should take vacation time for family and recreation. We offer up to four weeks vacation each year, depending on program and position. Employees can start accruing vacation time immediately! School employees get time off following the school calendar.
Sick Time
For doctors visits and sickness.
Personal Time
Up to 3 days per year to take care of personal business during normal business hours.
Holidays
Up to 12 holidays per year.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENTAL OPPORTUNITIES
Tuition Reimbursement
One of our most popular benefits! Our generous tuition reimbursement program reimburses up to $543 per class for a maximum of 2 classes per semester, up to a limit of 3 semesters (spring, summer, fall) in a year. The classes must be job-related and approved. Only full-time employees qualify.
Hearst Scholarship
Employees may also apply for a reimbursement of an out of pocket expense for a course, workshop or training. Scholarship amounts are currently up to $400.
Accreditation Assistance
This helps full-time employees financially with attaining accreditation (or continuing credentialing through workshops, conferences, distance learning or other means offered by a professional organization) up to a $500 limit.
Paid Training
Wildwood provides trainings on First Aid/CPR, defensive driving, working with individuals with disabilities, behavioral support training and professional job-related trainings.
Individual Development Plans
Employees and their supervisors meet regularly to discuss their performance and the individual’s professional goals and development as it relates to the Agency.

Employee Assistance Program
Administered under Human Resources Associates, this program provides free and confidential counseling services to our employees dealing with marital, financial, legal or any other personal matters.
Recruiting Bonus
Employees can get up to $700 over 3 years for referring applicants who become hired as Residential or Community Support Team Counselors.
Onsite Child Care Facility
Our excellent child-care facility is located at the Curry Road Extension building. Employees can pay for childcare services through payroll deductions.
Credit Union
Wildwood employees can sign up for financial products and services with First New York Federal Credit Union and fund their accounts through payroll deductions.
RETIREMENT
403(b) Retirement Plan
Employees can save up for their retirement in this tax-deferred account administered by Fidelity Investments. Employees become vested in Wildwood's contributions after 3 years of tenure. Employees may, but are not required, to contribute their own funds into this account. Wildwood contributes into each participant’s account in the following schedule:
