Josephine (Anuszkiewicz) Rafalak
September 6, 1908 - September 30, 2002

Josephine Anuszkiewicz was born in Rochester, NY in 1908. She lived there most of her life, working for many years in tailor shops and eventually marrying John Francis Rafalak. They settled in her family home on St. Stanislaus Street and had one son, John. She later worked for the Rochester City School District from which she retired in the early 70s. Josephine lived with her son and the rest of his family for 12 years. In the summer of 1999 Joephine and John traveled back to Rochester to meet with other members of the Anuszkiewicz family. In July of 2001 she had some long overdue cataract surgery and, afterwards was seeing better then she had in a long time. In the fall of 2001 she entered the Hallmark Nursing Centre in Schenectady, NY.

On September 30th of 2002 Josephine died of respiratory failure after a month of dealing with Pneumonia and Congestive Heart failure. She was asleep, comfortable and with her family when she passed away. She was 94 years old.
